Would you apply for your mortgage loan modification with our friend below? Please, for the love of man...say no!
 
OK, you DID say "No", right?
Here's the thing. When you get a call, email or post card from a loan modification company, chances are, you won't be so lucky as to have this kind of "red flag" forewarning. So let me give you a different one:
Subtle, huh? Here's the moral of the story. If you are going to seek a loan modification, do it only with your lender. Will it be easy..noooo. How about fun....puulleaseee. Will BofA, Chase or Wells suddenly see the light, hire customer service reps that actually care or finish your loan modification before the next millimium...probably not. BUT, if you don't go directly to your lender, the best you can hope for is a company and/or attorney charging you a lot of money for...going directly to your lender. From what I've seen, there's not a whole lot of "best case" outcomes with loan modification companies. There IS far more of our buddy and the link below him.
